The ZXR750 H1 was Kawasaki's 1989 attempt at a World Superbike-style production racer, built by putting a mildly tuned GPX750 road engine into a new aluminium perimeter chassis. It had an air-box layout with Hoover-style air pipes, 310 mm front discs and a stiff, rear-heavy feel that reviewers found demanding. It was sold as a road bike that could be converted for racing.
